The Andrew Project

Christianity Explained is now in it's 3rd week and going well.

Many new people attend the Tuesday evening sessions. We have 24 attending with 4 table facilitators.

A great opportunity to discuss and grapple with the Gospel teachings in the Book of Mark and even our "old Christians" have found it new and exciting.

Week One - Jesus' Authority (His Devine Sonship)
Week Two - Jesus' Death on the cross (His Substitution and Ransom)
Week Three - Jesus' Resurrection (The Physical Resurrection)

Each evening starts at 18:30 with a meal for about half an hour then we have a 10 minute discussion around the tables (lead by table facilitators) on the previous weeks study as well as the extra reading that was given (5 Chapters of Mark's Gospel per week)
After this we have the new session which takes 40 Minutes and we finish our evening at 20:00. People are then free to leave or stay for coffee and chat. These coffe chats have proven effective because it gives opportunity for questions and clarification after the sessions.

The Andrew Project

St Andrews held its annual Vestry Meeting on
Sunday 18 May 2008 where the "Andrew Project"
was presented to the congregation as
a goal for the church.

What is the Andrew Project?

The Andrew Project is based on the account in John’s Gospel
of the disciple Andrew, who, when he saw the Lord Jesus,
he went to find His brother Simon (Peter) and brought
him to Jesus.

John 1:40-42

Our aim is to encourage our St Andrews Pinelands family to be
like the Apostle Andrew (our namesake) by identifying people
who they can “ask” to “come meet Jesus” by
inviting them to St Andrews Services and functions.

Why the Andrew Project?

1We have been commanded in scripture to take the “Gospel to Jerusalem, Judea
and ultimately the ends of the earth”. (Acts 1:7-9).
This is our Jerusalem – Our community - Pinelands
This where we start - in reaching the world.
Many people are nervous to go out and evangelize,
but this is a non threatening way of reaching people.

In obedience to the Great commission we are called to GO,
not only as a church but as individuals as well.

Our Plan - Reach Out

Pray that the Andrew Project may be a way of reaching peoplewith the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
2.To plan our services and activities to be open to visitors and encourage everyone to invite friends and family.
3.To encourage all areas and ages of the St Andrews “family” to participate in the Andrew Project.4.To plan special Invitation events, such as, special guest services, men’s andladies’ meetings, Teen and Kidzone programs and Sunday School highlights.
